Dance classes
A fun and sensitive approach through flamenco as a path, development and affirmation of our own nature. We will address the principles of technique, aesthetics and improvisation and through exercises, choreographic sequences and basic creation guidelines we will make the invisible visible.
We will delve into bodily self-knowledge as a path towards a personal language, we will analyze the character and structure of the chosen palos and we will broaden the sensory capacity to then let go of everything and finally…dance!
Body, senses, emotion, intuition, personality, motivation, singing, structure, aesthetics, understanding, freedom, beats, listening, language, presence, thought, compass, analysis, improvising, character, weight, soniquete, balance, fluidity, coordination, strength, energy, space, guitar, feel, knowledge, internalize, individuality, create, transformation, sound, rhythm…FLAMENCO!!
Bio
An intriguing “bailaora”, curious and atypical in flamenco. Thanks to her versatility, she is able to respond to any challenge and to adapt to any type of context, always in constant evolution.
After a solid training in Classical and Spanish Dance, she finds in flamenco the vehicle for her artistic and personal development. After several years in the outstanding flamenco companies of Antonio «El Pipa», Andrés Marín, Javier Barón and the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía directed by Cristina Hoyos, from 2008 onwards she enters the world of choreographic creation and presents her own creations : «Leoleolé» (2008), «eLe eLe» (2011), «Mosaicos» (2012), “Naranja amarga” («Bitter Orange») (2013) and «Fragil» (2015).
She is an assiduous participant in very varied projects, from drama theater to different music genres (from Flamenco to Baroque, Classical and Contemporary), where she shares the creation work with other artists. In 2016, she presents the work «JRT», together with the bailaoras Úrsula López and Tamara López, in which they research, under the artistic direction of Pedro G. Romero, the underlying flamenco in the paintings of Julio Romero de Torres.
Her career as a soloist has merited various distinctions such as the Outstanding Dancer of the Madrid Choreographic Contest of Spanish Dance and Flamenco 2008 and the award for Best Breakout Artist of the Festival de Jerez 2011.
She presents her creations in the main European flamenco scenes such as the Seville and Nederland Flamenco Biennials or the festivals of Jerez, Dusseldorf, Esch, Nîmes, Mont de Marsan and Toulouse.
She is currently complementing her artistic career with the university studies on «Scenic practice and visual culture», a master degree proposed by the Reina Sofía Museum of Madrid.
She has completed university studies in Musical Teaching, and combines her artistic career with this activity, being constantly requested as a teacher at international flamenco schools and festivals around the world.
